The narrator’s favorite(a) pet is the cat, named Pluto. The affair begins to protract when the narrator grows moody and irritable day by day. He uses intemperate language towards his wife and sometimes even threatens her. He neglects and ill-uses all their pets except for Pluto. His relationship with his wife in the offset is sweet, loving, and kind, as well as to their animals, exactly as a result of alcohol abuse, the narrator begins to neglect and maltreat his favorite pet as well.
